Tameo Kits recently released a model of the 1966 Ferrari 312 as driven to victory at the Belgian GP by John Surtees. The kit has been released under the SilverLine brand (SLK 138) and provides everything needed for the modeler to build a wonderful replica of this beautiful car. Let’s open the box….

The 312 is a wonderfully balanced monoposto, with clean, elegant lines and exposed mechanical components around the rear of the car

The instructions provide detailed build and painting steps as well as reference photos of the real car

Following Tameo’s typical approach, the kit includes cast metal and photo-etch parts, rubber tyres, various detail parts including metal rod and wire mesh, decals and full colour instructions

Fine photo etch components are included for components where this is the best design solution

Pre-shaped mesh is included for the engine intake cover

Decals are sharply printed and include race numbers and various sections to ease painting

Cast parts unpacked and sorted for observation. While this is a standard kit, a very high level of detail is evident across the parts. Easy to build, but fully detailed
