Under the SilverLine range, Tameo Kits recently released a 1/43 model kit of the Ferrari 312 as it appeared during the 1969 Spainish GP. This event was characterised by many teams running extremely high wings mounted on rather precarious structures. Ferrari were no exception, with the 312 campaigning with an elevated rear foil. Let’s open the box and take a look….
The decal placement guide provides an excellent overview of this distinctive version of the 312.
Following Tameo’s typical approach, the kit includes cast metal and photo-etch parts, rubber tyres, various detail parts including metal rod and turned metal engine trumpets, decals and full colour instructions.
A spread of the kit parts highlights the larger main body, nose and undertray parts, accompanied by over 110 smaller detail parts for a highly detailed model.
A close up of a selection of the engine parts illustrates the high level of detail on these mechanical components.
Cast exhaust manifold parts for the V12.
Kit nose part is hollow, thin and features accurate, cast details in the integral aero foils.
The main body casting is flawless, and captures the delicate lines of this historic beauty.
More cast details, included the superbly recreated wheels.
Sections of wire, rod and turned metal trumpets are packaged separately.
Beautifully printed decals complete the kit, providing the limited sponsor markings, typical of cars of this era. We trust modelers will appreciate this highly detailed, easy to assemble kit of an instantly recognisable design from a golden era of grand prix racing. Enjoy!
